Acknowledgements Many thanks to Michael Dyson and Phil Waterton for supplying the first photographs in this gallery. Are there any more out there? Accompanying Text from Phil Waterton “The JEiT (Junior Engineers in Training) held at Plymouth Polytechnic was a forerunner to the TBE courses that were held at Newcastle and the IBA’s own Technical Training College at Seaton, Devon.
I was on the third such course, known as Advanced TV Diploma (ATVD3). It lasted for 3 academic terms spread over a period of 18 months, interspersed with periods of “on-station” training at one of the IBA’s sites that incorporated the ‘Colour Control Rooms’ (forerunners to the Regional Operations Centres, that in turn were superseded by the National Customer Service Centre at Emley Moor)”.
